Juno's Spring Semseter

Hi Everyone...
This week was kinda busy for me. ISO had a fund raising program for Haiti. We were selling MoMos. Its a steamed dumplings served with tomato sauce. Thank you all for buying some
and helping ISO raise fund. :)

We had a General Meeting for ISO this week to discuss about the upcoming programs. Though the powerpoint gave us some problem, it was a good discussion and
support from all who attended the meeting... We had free pizza and pop... hehe... I enjoyed it a lot because I was starving. :)

Mid-Term is on its way, so I should say I had couple of papers to type, three quizzes and an exam last week. I've got 4 exams next week and two papers due.. wish me luck..I really need it.

Well, besides studies..ISO is taking a trip to State capital and Mall of America this Saturday. I hope all will have fun and get to do some shopping. Spring Break is arriving, so Im excited about it.
I am ready for a break... hehe..Wish you all the best for your Mid-Term. Study well and keep yourself warm. Take Care. ^___^

Tony - Post Hawaiian Night

Aloha-
A few weeks ago was Hawaiian Night. It was definitely everything it was hyped up to be and more! There was sooo much school spirit in the air you could smell it. The Nearly Naked Mile was a success. I think we collected over 250 donated clothing items. Classes are going awesome. I have had a few exams and big papers due, but I didn't really have any issues with them other than a few late nighters. Work in the Office of Admission is a great time also. I love having the opportunity to show off SMSU to prospective students. Hopefully I will get to see some of them around school next year! Outside of school and work, SMSU continues to be filled with great times. Everyone is getting excited for spring break. Only one week left of classes. Take it easy.

Update from Elise...

This week has been pretty busy for me with two tests and a paper due already, and it’s only Wednesday! Luckily tonight I can escape the homework with the last home basketball game for the Mustangs.

My classes are going well, and I think I’ve determined that my favorite class this semester is my Popular Music class. Although it’s an elective class, it’s been really interesting learning about different musicians and styles of music.

That’s all for now. Go Mustangs!

Elise...Post-Hawaiian Night

Hey everyone!
Last week was loads of fun at SMSU! The annual Winter Meltdown ended with a high point with basketball victories and tons of school spirit shown by fans dressed in their craziest Hawaiian gear! Today, however, I seem to be in a little mid-week slump. Hey, it happens to everyone! So I stopped by Java City here on campus and picked up a Cinnamon Roll Late. After that little pick-me-up I am recharged to write that paper that’s due tomorrow! Better get to work! That’s it for now.

Brittaney C is back!

Hi everyone I have not talked to you all since last year! Between classes, work, dance practice, and writing papers for Senior Seminor I barely have a chance to do anything. But dont worry its not always that way guys this week has just been busy for me. Let me tell you about what is happening this week on campus; Monday, the wind was blowing like crazy across the roads and when I got out of my car I had to fight the wind for a good two minutes just to make it into the school. Good thing is everyone including the University President felt my pain lol and closed school at 12:30pm, so we had a half day SNOW DAY, got to love Marshall! Wednesday started Winter Meltdown, which is a week full of events that lead up to the Mens and Women's B-ball games. Yesterday was SPA day, there were people giving massages, manicures, and hair cuts, FOR FREE! I wish I could have recieved a massage but you guys should have seen the line and the signup sheet. I guess everyone need a massage after our run in with the wind lol! Tonight we have a mentalist coming to perform, that should be creepy and fun. Tomorrow, we are making our own leis for Hawaiian Night (Men & women b-ball game) on Saturday. I am excited for Hawaiian Night, everyone comes dressed in their hawaiian gear and pretends its hot outside, but I am more excited to perform at the game! Oh I forgot Saturday is the Chili Cook off as well. I wonder if I can be a taste tester lol! I really like chili. Well I will let you know how this weekend goes!

Got to love SMSU,
Brittaney C.

The latest from Tony...

Hey there. I just finished my second week of the 2010 Spring semester here at SMSU. I will keep busy this semester between classes, working in the Admissions Office, and working for my mentor scholarship in the Foundations Office. Now that classes have started rolling along, I am getting a little bit of homework. Nothing too serious though. It is Winter Meltdown Week next week so there will be a lot going on. Thursday night is the Nearly Naked Mile clothing drive. Students race through campus in the cold weather and stop at check points to take the clothes off their back to donate them to a local charity. By the end of the race students are left nearly naked or wearing a crazy costume. Saturday will be Hawaiian Night vs Bemidji State. Can't wait!!!

This just in from Elise...

Hi everybody!
I’m done with the second week of my second semester at Southwest, and it looks like I have another fun and exciting few months ahead of me here in Marshall. Though my classes this semester may be more time consuming with more homework, I have gotten a lot better at managing my time than I was in high school, and I look forward to the challenge of more difficult courses.

Next week is Winter Meltdown at SMSU and the student body is buzzing with excitement for the Hawaiian Night basketball game on Saturday and the fun activities planned for the entire week. Some of those activities include a free rock concert Tuesday night, a “Dive In” movie in the pool on Wednesday, and a Mentalist on Thursday night. To kick of the weekend, there is a dance on Friday night with a DJ, and on Saturday there will be a chili cook-off and chili tasting followed by the Hawaiian Night Basketball Game versus Bemidji. It is going to be a busy week at SMSU!
